There are several camping sites around the Chiemsee lake, which are designed mainly for beach holiday makers. In addition to the possibility of renting bath mats or boats, several camping sites on the Chiemgau also have direct access to the Chiemsee. Thus, tourists can use the short distances for their recreation and can also enjoy the impressive sunsets at their destination. Some places in Bavaria have been awarded the status of mountain villages. These include the two mountain resorts of Sachrang and Schleching, where travellers camp in the Chiemgau in the midst of unspoilt nature.

The big hiking lifts are not to be found here. Instead, there are flower-filled paths and magnificent views of the Kaisergebirge and the Central Alps.
