The white and almost endless beach in the west of Sylt, the "Weststrand", is about 40 kilometres long. The beaches are mainly bordered by an extensive dune landscape towards the interior of the island. The dams on the island of Sylt are populated by numerous sheep, in addition to cyclists and walkers. The beach area "Samoa" is reserved for naturists. The beach of Sylt naturally also has extensive textile areas.

There is a lot to discover on Sylt. Most of the sights on Sylt you won't even notice at first glance. These include, for example, Tinnumburg, a ring wall of 120 m diameter from the 10th century, on which a castle once stood. 

The up to 4 m high "traveling giants" at the train station in Westerland are not to be missed with their bright color and a typical photo motive. The Adventure Centre "Forces of Nature" on the Lists coast is a great destination, especially for families, to experience the effects of the tides and climate on Sylt.

It is not so well known that numerous megalithic tombs have been discovered on the North Sea island of Sylt. Sylt has been more or less heavily populated since the Bronze Age. The best known communities on Sylt are Kampen and Westerland. The famous thatched houses are mainly located in the eastern part of the Frieseninsel. A tourist attraction of the island is the captain's village Keitum with its historic Frisian houses.

The North Sea island of Sylt is probably the most popular island in the North Sea and lies directly on the border with Denmark. At the same time it is the most northern island of Germany.
